DIY- Reindeer Door Decor

Hi everyone, I know it's been forever. I have been a crafting maniac lately and I wanted to share one of my favorite diy's with you. It is easy and inexpensive and it adds a bit of uniqueness to your front door.  This diy could be a great gift idea for anyone this holiday season. This diy was inspired from this Reindeer wreath.  I loved the wreath, but with my glass storm door I can not have something to wide and I love using things I can get from the thrift store.

Materials Needed:
White paint
Gold spray paint
red paint
White and gold material
Reindeer paper mold
gold trim
white pompom trim
Modpodge glue
foam brush
hot glue gun
scissors

First, the reindeer can be purchased at Joann fabrics. It was $9.88 with 30% off. I am sure they have it at other craft stores.  The frame was a thrift store find for $2. Honestly, the hard part for me was deciding the frame size I wanted to use. I decided on the smaller frame, because I felt like the deer was more of the focal point.

Second, paint your frame white and use Modpodge to glue the fabric to the underside of the frame. I applied glue to the back and the front of the material to make sure it was coated. I picked fabric that coordinated with my black front door. Also,  spray paint your deer gold during this time.

Third, screw the backside and the frame together.  Using a screw from each side, wrap the gold trim around and tighten.  This will hold your trim in place and be used to hang your frame.

Fourth,  using your hot glue gun adhere the deer to the frame. You can add a red nose or leave it plan. I put a little red glitter on mine.

Fifth, you will glue your trim to the antlers. Let it dry and it is ready to hang. I love it!!! I haven't decorated the front yet or left this wreath out because it is a tad early, but I wanted to share in case anyone wanted to make their own.

I love it and can't wait to put it out after Thanksgiving.

I will be trying to post a few diys a week and some will be gift ideas for the holidays. I love to make people gifts, it makes it more personal to me.
